February 2018 Updates

Quarterly Breakfast – Saturday February 10 – Join your neighbors and meet some new friends on Saturday.   Serving starts at 9:00 am in the clubhouse and kid activities will be on the picnic table. Beacon Lake Committee Update – The committee has expanded to nine owners and the purpose and scope of work has been approved by the board. They are gathering data about the lake and will start contacting selected owners about water rights. They have covered many aspects and exploring other options as they work to ensure Beacon Lake is usable.

Kayak / Canoe Rack – Owners wishing to rent a space for 2018 at Anglers Cover should have been contacted by now. Space is still available for $25 per year. Application forms (MLR small boat rack) can be found on the website. Beacon Lake rack will be built in the coming months.

Community Garden – Spring planting season is almost here! The Community Garden is now accepting garden bed reservations. Two bed sizes are available: 4ft x 8ft and 4ft x 4ft. We will also have a community group, and participants will pool resources and work and split up the harvest. Please email Julie at garden@mountainlakes.info to request a garden bed, sign up for the community group, or both!

R V Storage Applications Required – Owners are required to complete an updated application each year if they store trailers, boats, or RVs in the Storage Area. The form can be found on the website under the Forms section. This is important since several units appear be have been abandoned. Failure to update your application each year will result in your unit being moved when needed (because we can’t determine the owner ) and access to this area restricted.                **Mail or scan completed paperwork to the management company **

Swim Lessons – The board is negotiating with a certified swim instructor that will again offer group and private swim lessons on selected mornings at the community pool. More information will be available after the agreement has been finalized.

Skyline Park – Phase III Improvements – If owners would like to serve on a committee to help determine if and when more improvements should be made at Skyline Park, please contact Andrea Wood at andrea@ajtsafety.com. Several ideas have been shared on Facebook but a committee is needed to refine the long range plan and establish a timetable for any future additions.

Rental Storage Units – Just a few units remain that measure 10’ x 10’ x 10’ with 8’ doors in the RV Storage Area. Rent is $65 per month and the application can be found on the website.

Website Calendar –Watch the calendar of events on the website for events such as Family Movie Nights, Quarterly Breakfast, Board meetings, Monthly Kids Club and if the Clubhouse is available to rent!

Beacon Lake Closed – Due to the low water level, Beacon Lake remains closed to motorized boats until further notice. The main issue is the water level is below the rip-rap that protects the dam from erosion. Sailboats, canoes and kayaks are allowed since they do not make a wake. Pray for Spring rains

Future Board Meetings set – The next two board meetings will be held on Wednesday March 2, 2018 and April 4, 2018. Meetings are held at the clubhouse and begin at 5:00 pm. Owner attendance is encouraged and each meeting has a scheduled time for comments. Minutes of previous meetings are posted on the website once approved.
